The programme is designed to impart an efficient and effec tive knowledge and skills of the principles of remote sensing, image processing, and classification techniques and develop skills of using software and other tools of GIS application Admission Requirements

 

BASIC TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE IN GIS

A candidate who have completed form four and possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with a minimum of four passes; two (2) of the passes should be either in Geography, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry subjects.

 

TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE IN GIS

Possession of a Basic Technician Certificates (NTA Level 4) in Geographical Information System, Cartography, Land Man agement, Valuation and Registration (NTA Level 4), Land Surveying, Photogrammetry, Geo-informatics, Environmental Planning/Management, Geomatics, Information & Commu nication Technology and Computer Science from any institu tion recognized by the Tanzania government education regulatory bodies. OR One who possess an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with one principal pass in Mathematics, Geography, Biology, Physics or Chemistry and at least one subsidiary pass in any subject.
